Ink 'n Paint and Final Toon
Software: 3DS Max
In this tutorial we'll examinate some features of two different materials with the same aim: give a cartoon aspect to the final image or animation. The first, Ink 'n Paint material, is integrated in 3DS Max whereas the second is a Cebas plug-in called Final Toon.

INK 'N PAINT |
First of all choose two free slots, press Get Matreial button and select finalToon and Ink 'n Paint materials from the Material/Map Browser.

1_ In this first image you can see the Ink 'n Paint material applied with default settings.

| |
2_ This image was rendered with no Ink module. The renderer does't draw borders.
3_Now select the Ink radio button again and increase the Min Ink Width value. You'll obtain a wider border.
4_Finally deselect Outline radio button. The renderer will draw only internal borders.
FINAL TOON |
| |
1_Just like before we start with a rendering with default settings applied. In this case Ink 'n Paint and Final Toon appears quite similar.

2_Now increase the Amount Value in Fina Toon - Shader rolluot.

3_In the finalToon - Edges rollout you can edit edges properties such as color, opacity, thickness and pattern type. To do this click the boxes next each selected option. In the following images i have modified Vislible Folds thickness, HiddenCreases, Hidden UDVs with a dotted pattern and hidden folds.
